Who is Tanglewood Construction?

Tanglewood Constructionis a full-service general contractor based in Katy, Texas, serving Katy and the west Houston metro. We’re a newer name with a deliberate model: instead of splitting a project across a separate architect, MEP trades, and a permit runner you have to chase, we put design, construction, mechanical/ electrical/plumbing coordination, and city permitting under one accountable team and one contract.

Our primary lane is commercial — shopping-center and retail buildouts, restaurant pads, office and medical tenant improvements, and ground-up free-standing retail, office, medical, and light-industrial work. We also take on real residential work: kitchen, bath, and primary-suite remodels, room additions, and full-home remodels, built by the same crew and the same standards that run our commercial jobs.

What sets us apart in the Katy market is the one-stop position. Most local contractors do either commercial or residential, and most outsource permits and MEP. We own the whole stack: a single point of contact across architecture, MEP, and permits; permit expediting handled by us through the City of Katy and Harris/Fort Bend County; vetted subcontractors instead of day-labor; and a named project manager on every job who keeps the schedule and the change orders honest.

Who is Joe?

Tanglewood Construction is owned and run by Joe Sullivan. Joeis the single point of accountability on the business — the person who owns the relationship, the schedule, and the standard of work on every project. We’d rather earn your trust with a clear model and a real conversation than with inflated claims, so the specifics of Joe’s background, the company’s portfolio, and our team roster are detailed directly during onboarding rather than padded here.

How does a new GC earn trust in Texas?

Texas has no statewide general-contractor license — so a license number proves nothing here. Real credibility comes from city registration, insurance, bonding, vetted trades, and an accountable point of contact. That’s exactly what we build on.
